Lorelei Codelia Mahoney is an American actress.
Mahoney was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Pamela Ammerman and Patrick Mahoney. She has two younger brothers, Thaddeus and Edward. The family moved from Lancaster to Methuen, Massachusetts. At age 9, her mother was murdered and she was placed into foster care until she subsequently ended up in Massachusetts, where she picked up the thick Boston accent, which became her major identifying characteristic on No Biz to Show Biz. She married United States Army soldier Edwin Hernandezgunn in 2004. They have two children Anthony, born in 2005 and Nicholas, born in 2007.
Mahoney graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell while embarking on her early career in stage plays. Her first roles were Marian Campbell in Shaken and Her Love and Santana Leon in Who's Your Daddy. Despite a promising future, her knack for improvisation annoyed the directors and eventually she moved on to comedy. In 2000, she created characters such as "Maria the maid", "Svetlana the mail order bride" and "Sarema".
