Fallen Angel
Synopsis
Release Date:
April 28,2009Available to U.S. audiences for the first time, Fallen Angel, a riveting 2007 British miniseries starring Emilia Fox and Charles Dance, debuts on DVD from Acorn Media on April 28, 2009. Based on the acclaimed Roth Trilogy by crime writer Andrew Taylor, this tense psychological drama unravels the web of circumstances that creates a serial killer in a reverse chronological narrative. A whydunit rather than a whodunit, it's a clever departure from conventional crime dramas. Ethereal beauty Angel Wharton is the devil in disguise. When she kidnaps a child as prey for a pedophile, you know she is evil. But what?or who?made her that way? Fallen Angel explores the mind and motivations of a psychopath (Emilia Fox, Silent Witness, The Pianist), moving backwards through time to learn where it all went wrong. Is it the fault of Angel's father (Charles Dance, Bleak House, Gosford Park), an ambitious but distant vicar? Her weak mother, or the family friend who betrayed her? The miniseries also stars Clare Holman (Inspector Morse), Claudie Blakley (Pride & Prejudice), Emma Fielding (Cranford), Mark Benton (Booze Cruise), and Niamh Cusack (Too Good to be True), and James D'Arcy (Master and Commander). Fallen Angel aired on ITV in the U.K. in March 2007 and is written by Peter Ransley (A Good Murder, Fingersmith). BONUS FEATURE: 47-minute behind-the-scenes special.
