Image Entertainment releases Even the Rain, the award winning film from Spain that weaves together history, politics, religion and the emotional art of movie making. From Director Iciar Bollain (Take My Eyes) and Screenwriter Paul Laverty (The Wind That Shakes The Barley), Even the Rain was selected as the Spanish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards® and won the Panorama Audience Award at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Idealistic filmmaker Sebastian (Gael Garcia Bernal, The Motorcycle Diaries) and his cynical producer Costa (Luis Tosar, The Limits of Control) arrive in Bolivia to make a revisionist film about Christopher Columbus' conquest of the Americas. But as filming commences, the local citizens begin to riot in protest against a multi-national corporation that is taking control of their water supply. With the film shoot in jeopardy, both men find their convictions shaken. Inspired by the real-life Water Wars in Bolivia in the year 2000, Even the Rain explores the lasting effects of Spanish imperialism, still resonating some 500 years later in the continued struggle of indigenous people against oppression and exploitation.
Even the Rain created a tremendous buzz among critics and won three Goya Awards, including Best Original Score for the moving soundtrack by Alberto Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy). An absorbing and thought provoking journey, Even the Rain is poetic and passionate filmmaking that stays with you long after the final frame.
